Man in a light blue shirt smiles while speaking outdoors. People sit on chairs, surrounded by green plants and a brick wall background.

For Sam, business has never been just about profit. It has always been about people.

Since 2018, Sam has owned and operated Raise a Chick Africa (RACA), a poultry business that provides quality eggs, chicks, feed, and hands-on training for farmers in his community. What began as a small operation has grown into a trusted local business. Today, Sam also serves as Seed International’s Ugandan Country Director, helping lead business empowerment efforts across multiple communities in Uganda.

In 2025, Seed began partnering with Dwell Uganda, in the Walukuba community. Dwell provides safe housing for families, and this year, Seed launched a business training cohort for entrepreneurs living there. As Sam taught weekly lessons, mentored participants, and built relationships with families in the neighborhood, he began to notice a gap that he could fill.

In Walukuba, running a poultry business was nearly impossible without access to quality supplies. Sam saw what was missing and he didn’t wait for change to come. He became the change. By opening a store in Walukuba, he turned a gap into a gateway for families to provide for themselves.

Midway through the year, Sam made the decision to expand RACA into Walukuba. He rented a small shop from one of Dwell’s homeowners and opened a new RACA storefront right inside the community he had been training. Today, that shop sells eggs, chicks, poultry feed, and equipment, bringing both economic opportunity and practical resources directly to local families.

And his commitment doesn’t stop at his storefront. In the coming months, Sam will be moving into the Walukuba community. What began as a weekly training role has become a long-term investment in neighbors, relationships, and shared flourishing.

This expansion is more than business growth. It represents the heart of Seed’s mission in action.

Sam didn’t enter Walukuba as just a trainer. He entered as a fellow entrepreneur, a neighbor, and a partner in the community’s long-term flourishing. He saw need through relationship and built something that will continue to serve long after the training cohort ends.

Today, Walukuba residents have direct access to agricultural supplies, mentorship, and a local business that reinvests in their own neighborhood. One entrepreneur’s obedience created ripple effects for dozens of families.

Sam’s story reflects Seed’s greater vision: a global community of entrepreneurs growing together, building sustainable businesses, and creating lasting Kingdom impact. What God planted in one local business in 2018 is now bearing fruit across communities in 2025. And this is only the beginning.

Together, we are seeing what happens when empowerment moves beyond the classroom and into everyday life.
